Gun control and society

In Parkland, Florida yesterday, 17 kids were gunned down by a mentally deranged individual. It matters little the method of execution, or the manner in which it was done, as much as media likes to dwell on the subject. There is widespread condemnation of the 2nd Amendment, of the AR-15 weapon he used,  and an almost universal call by the left wing for more regulations and gun control.

I don’t know what the answer is to school shootings, but I DO know that more regulations won’t help. It was already a crime to commit murder, signs were posted that the school was a ‘gun free zone’ and the authorities were well aware of this problematic individual. None of it saved those victims, not in the slightest.

The problem is our permissive, pretentious, irresponsible and depraved society that dehumanizes our fellow man on an almost daily basis.  We find humor in the pain of others, with social media egging on the bullying. We hide behind our walls and our computers, lasciviously acting as a voyeur onto the world we live in as it burns itself to a cinder. Our expectations our low as we set our sights high; aiming for unachievable utopian ideals in a permissive and broken childhood fantasy of what a proper society could and should be.We teach our children that an unborn child is a ‘clump of cells’. We never tell the young the meaning of the word ‘no’. We trivialize violence and sexualize young women, giving awards to abusers. We miseducate the youth on their heritage. We say aberrant behavior and sexual deviancy is normal and must be tolerated, yet when a man makes a simple gesture of his faith in god by kneeling in a football game, we castigate him.

What did you think would happen?

Our failed social, educational and mental health model for society is producing a flood of deranged, unbalanced and miseducated people. Government is sup[posed to guid society in positive and productive ways, not channel it into how it thinks people should live their lives directly. We tell parents that it takes a village to raise our children but never warn children that the village itself is corrupted at its core.

The Florida shooting at Parkland is just the end result of our ‘Village’ system of child rearing, and the way we are building society: that government knows best.
