On Wednesday. a small group of angry agitators joined a legitimate rally to support the president (Stop the Steal), broke into the Capitol building, past guards and barricades, and created a violent action that got several people killed.

People are wonder why there not more police at scene, or why the National Guard was not prepared for such an event.

This nation never has faced violent crowds carrying the American flag. It had always been peaceful before, and the violence always came from people carrying anarchical flags. They weren’t afraid of the ones with the American flags.

This time was different and they learned the hard way that people on either side of an argument get unruly and can lose their minds in an angry mob, especially when (rightly or wrongly) they feel their voice is not heard in a vote.

Agitators, paid agitators, can work a mob into a frenzy when there are people so angry. That’s what happened here, what may have also been happening in other situations where there was destruction and vandalism.

I’ve warned people about this, and told my audience to avoid these mega protests since this sort of thing has been happening all over the country. Many times I’ve said that the nation is not at the point where there is a need to go to violence. Not yet. People have jobs, have families, have food and clothing, shelter and comforts in abundance. With those things, the need for violence is little; at least as this point.

These protests often do little good anyway– politicians don’t listen to protests; they listen to money, and that’s part of problem too. This time it got out of hand and people got killed. Now an entire anti-establishment movement, as well as a president, were completely and unfairly discredited.

The vast majority of people in Washington, on Wednesday, were there for a peaceful event; they brought families and children. You don’t do that if you are going there to burn down your own capital. There was no vandalism. There was no arson. There was little destroyed or stolen that could not be easily replaced. They prayed and sang hymns . These are not the sort of people that want to destroy government, but instead to preserve it.

There was little to show for it except a few panes of broken glass, some damaged furniture and scattered papers. Many, if not all, of the statues and artwork are still in place.

There was more damage to people’s egos, and the to the reputation of a legitimate anti-establishment movement that had swept over the land with the advent of the election of Donald Trump.

No one is calling for calm, or to listen to reason. Demands for lengthy prison terms, arrests, and removals of people from office who did little except to question an election and ask only for a third party to oversee the matter. Their goal is only to assuage people’s fear and calm the waters. People that were responsible for Wednesday’s violent actions should face the law in a courtroom, for the crimes they committed and no one else.

Now, matters are worse, as both sides demand justice, without thinking what that might mean. America, however, I fear, has crossed the Rubicon and both sides are calling for actions that may well bring disastrous consequences.
